About this Role:

The Overwatch Imaging Vice President of Business Development is responsible for significantly growing revenue, building customer requirements for Overwatch Imaging automated imaging technology, and winning big long-term roles for the company to make an impact.  Working closely with the executive team and reporting to the CEO, this senior leader will simultaneously find and win sales for current Overwatch Imaging smart sensors, autonomy software and services, while developing and winning a long-term, enduring funded set of government programs.  Both directly and through effective management of team members, the VP of BD will manage high-value customer relationships, represent Overwatch Imaging technology with expertise and passion, foster rapid business growth, and enable a bright future.

​About Overwatch:

Overwatch Imaging is automating the collection, analysis, and delivery of time-critical geospatial intelligence for missions that matter. Overwatch AI software automatically manages airborne sensors through smart pointing commands, automated detection of objects of interest, and computer-generated reporting of collected intelligence outputs for communications-efficient reporting. Overwatch smart sensors are multi-camera, multi-spectral stabilized airborne payloads designed for automated operation by edge computers rather than human sensor operators. Together, our capabilities enable life-saving agencies to scan wide areas and find small objects of interest, faster and more efficiently than with human-in-the-loop systems, so our customers can focus less on the search and more on the best response.


What You’ll Work On:
The ideal candidate will be strong in many of these areas:

Sales Generation: Achieves near- and longer-term sales goals by building valuable stakeholder relationships, understanding and shaping customer needs, developing winning proposals to meet those needs, and closing deals.

Government Program Creation: Executes a long-term strategy to create and capture a funded government program for automated airborne sensor operation.

BD Team Leadership: Leads and builds a team of passionate professionals with efficient processes and tools that achieves sales results and represents the Overwatch Imaging product and brand effectively; maintains revenue forecasts and sales pipeline data; responsible for revenue and growth.

Business Growth Strategy Implementation: Supports company strategic growth initiatives including brand awareness, legislative affairs leadership, strategic partner and sales channel management, product and service price modeling, fundraising, and more; contributes to the company strategic growth plan. 


What You’ll Bring:


Experience and Education:

  • Experience with intelligence systems operating on crewed and uncrewed aircraft

  • Experience in aerospace and defense, particularly with US government contracting

  • Experience selling, influencing, and taking responsibility for sales performance

  • Experience leading teams through the execution of sales plans, proposals and growth strategies

  • Experience maintaining many unique and related customer relationships across technology upgrade and funding cycles

  • Familiarity with startup business operations, change management, growth management, culture management, investor management and similar

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with team leadership and C-level relationship management required; relevant formal education and military experience a plus

Technical Competence:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and influence

  • Understanding of how to work through US government acquisition processes including needs statement, requirements, and budget generation

  • Comfort with business-to-business and business-to-government contracting

  • Understanding with imaging fundamentals, image data analytics and AI concepts

  • Familiarity with sales management tools including Hubspot CRM
