Smaller Threats, Bigger Challenges:
Automation is Essential
Intelligence organizations face growing pressure to enhance mission outcomes, reduce crew sizes, and adopt new technologies that drive operational efficiency.
Meanwhile, ISR missions are becoming increasingly complex. Crews must detect smaller, more elusive, and more lethal threats across broader, multi-domain environments.
Finding the needle in the haystack isn’t just important, it’s mission critical.
Automated Sensor Operator (ASO)
AI-enabled Software for Our Sensors and Yours
By combining Artificial Intelligence, edge processing and advanced sensor technologies, ASO automates manual-intensive data collection and analysis tasks, enhances mission outcomes with beyond-human capabilities, and enables full-time utilization of ISR assets across a wide rage of missions.

Search
ASO controls physical movement of the sensor, optimizes zoom, resolution, overlap, and scan pattern settings based on dynamic mission factors such as flight profile, target characteristics, coverage area and desired intelligence outputs.

Analyze
ASO analyzes sensor data in real-time, performs object detection using mission-specific AI models, stitches imagery into map products and displays intelligence in real-time in an interactive user interface.

Report
ASO detections are displayed in real-time, map outputs are processed and available instantly, intelligence products are optimized for low-bandwidth transmission, full-res imagery is stored for downstream analysis.

Solving the
Soda Straw Problem
Traditional airborne imaging systems face an inherent trade-off between field of view, coverage area, and target-level resolution. Akin to looking through a soda straw, users must choose between covering a broad area with low detail or achieving higher pixels on target within a narrower field of view.
Overwatch Imaging overcomes this constraint with automated step-stare imaging as the primary means of data collection. By systematically covering wide areas at narrower fields of view, we deliver granular detail across large search areas. Our ASO software autonomously controls sensor movement and analyzes and stitches together imagery in real time, enabling persistent, high-resolution ISR at scale, without the latency or workload burden of manual operation.
